Everyone talks about the end of the world and that it's going to end on May 21, 2012 or whatever. But according to Matthew 24:26 "But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." According to the Bible only God knows of the day and the hour. That day could be anytime. In Matthew 24 it says, "As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains. Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation, spoken of through the prophet Daniel then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let no one on the housetop go down to take anything out of the house. Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak. How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath. For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again. If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you ahead of time. So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms, do not believe it. For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather. Immediately after the distress of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken. Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
As you read those passages from Matthew 24 you can read what all the signs of the end times are. We have seen almost all of these signs. The world is getting uglier everyday and it's going to keep getting uglier. Jesus is coming and it's time for His people to rise up and do what He has called them to do, and that is to spread the Word of God to everyone. My goal in life is to be a light to people. I want to make a difference in people's lives. I have friends and family that are not saved by the blood of Jesus. Some of them think that once your saved you're always saved. No, there isn't a once saved always saved theology. If you got saved when you were young and you lived you life for Jesus for, let's say, two years then you start going back to all your old habbits and stop living for Jesus then, in my opinion, you are not saved. Jesus came and died for your sins so that you could have eternal life. He saved you from from being thrown into hell for all of eternity.
Hell is a place full of evil, darkness, heat, and hatred. I read a book called 23 Minutes in Hell and that book explains hell in so much detail. It said that hell was hotter than anything any human could stand. It literally made you feel like the life was sucked right out of you. It talked about the darkness, that it feels like you are going to be consumed by the darkness. There isn't a morsel of light in hell at all! There is so much evil and hatred in hell. Now I don't know about you but that is one place I would never want to go to. I'm not a person that is scared of anything, but i am terrified of hell. I would recommend that everyone read 23 Minutes in Hell, not only because it's a great book but because it will make you see things in a different light.
I don't think people in this world today have a fear of God. That means to have great respect for God, to understand how great He is and that he could take you at any time. Haha! That's how I see it anyways. Luke 12:5 says, " But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. yes, I tell you, fear Him." Now I wouldn't want to not fear God simply because He has the authority to throw me into hell. A place I DO NOT want to go. So why not fear God? He loved you so much that He sent His only son to die for YOU. Now for those who have children, could you imagine sending your son or daughter to die for someone who steals, murders, and rapes people? I couldn't and I don't even have kids! I can't imagine that kind of love. I'm so overwhelmed by the Love of God.
Gods standards are so high that he considers hatred to be murder and lust to be adultery. Yet there are people in the world that hate and lust all the time. I have friend that has hate in their heart for another person and I told them that he will not enter into the kingdom of God if he goes around hating someone. You have to forgive them and go on no matter what they did to you and what they do. The world is getting worse which brings me back to the end times. We are living in them. Many people don't want to see it or hear it but it's the truth. I'm one of the people that doesn't want to hear it. I want the people that are closest to me to get their lives right with God first so they can be right by me when it happens. I don't want to have anyones blood on my hands. I want to go to heaven knowing that I did the very best I could do. I don't want to go to heaven knowing that I didn't try to help my friends out. That I didn't try to be Jesus to them. I want to be and I will be. I want to win hearts for Jesus. If Jesus can die for me then I'm going to tell people about Him. He has done amazing things in my life and many other peoples lives.
I love Jesus with all of my heart. I want to be a light to others and spread His word to people which is why I started doing these blogs. Jesus is amazing and He will always be there for you no matter what. He won't reject you or stop loving you. If you don't go to church then find a church to go to. Get your relationship with Jesus going. What is it going to hurt? For those who aren't saved and want to be saved I have a prayer that you can pray. Don't be afraid to do it, God is there and listening.
"Lord Jesus, I know I'm a sinner and I know I have sinned against You. Lord, I ask that You forgive me of my sins and I ask that You come into my heart and be my Savior. I thank You Lord for sending Your son to die for me. I want to live for You. I love you Jesus. Amen.
I hope someone's life was just changed. When you pray that prayer you have to mean it deep down inside. Its not easy being a Christian but as long as you have a relationship with Jesus Christ He will help you. Yes, you will still sin but try to change your life in a way that is honoring to God. Everyone makes mistakes and God knows that. That's why you say that prayer and get forgiveness. There is a such thing as willful sin but I will get into that next time.
